Your peace of mind matters as much as your rabbit’s happiness. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our boarding service, from booking procedures to our daily care routine. We believe in keeping things simple and flexible – because we live and work on site, we can accommodate most requests and timing preferences that work around your schedule. Our secure camera system means you can check in on your rabbit anytime during their stay, giving you that extra reassurance while you’re away.
Before booking, please note that all rabbits must be fully vaccinated against RVHD1, RVHD2, and Myxomatosis – this is essential for the safety of all our guests. We also strongly recommend that your rabbit is covered by pet insurance, as this provides additional protection should any unexpected health issues arise during their stay. These frequently asked questions cover everything from health requirements to our facilities and daily routines, helping you prepare for your rabbit’s stay with complete confidence.

Making a reservation is simple – just click the booking link and complete our online form with your rabbit’s details and preferred dates. Either Jules or I will get in touch within 24 hours to confirm availability and organize everything with you personally.
During our call or message exchange, we’ll discuss your rabbit’s specific needs, dietary requirements, and any special care instructions. We’ll also arrange convenient drop-off and collection times that work around your schedule – including evenings and weekends if needed. If you’re a first-time guest, we’re happy to arrange a quick visit beforehand so you can see our facilities and meet us in person.
Once everything is confirmed, we’ll send you our booking confirmation with all the details you need, including what to pack and our contact information. There’s no need for upfront deposits – we keep things relaxed and trust-based, just like everything else at Buntopia. If your plans change, simply let us know as soon as possible and we’ll work with you to find a solution.
Unlike most rabbit boarding facilities, we like to keep things flexible. Because we live and work onsite, you’re welcome to drop off and collect your rabbit whenever suits your schedule – there’s no need to squeeze into rigid time slots. Whether it’s early morning before work, late evening after a long day, or anytime over the weekend, we’re here to accommodate you.
We also believe in making the transition as smooth as possible for your rabbit. Rather than simply placing them in a pre-set pen, we invite you to help set up their accommodation exactly how you think they’ll be most comfortable. You know your rabbit best – whether they prefer their water bowl in a particular spot, need their blanket arranged just so, or like their food positioned away from their sleeping area. This personal touch helps them settle in much more quickly and feel at home from the moment you leave.
This hands-on approach is part of what makes Buntopia different. We’re not just a boarding service – we’re rabbit lovers who understand that every bunny has their own preferences and personality.
Absolutely! We actively encourage visits before making a booking – it’s the best way for you to see our facilities, meet us in person, and get a feel for the place where your rabbit will be staying.
There’s always something happening at our farm, so if you’re bringing children along, they’ll love meeting our friendly residents. We have quail, cats, and playful puppies roaming around, and there are often baby bunnies here too, which makes for an exciting visit. It gives you a real sense of the caring, animal-loving environment your rabbit will be part of during their stay.
During your visit, we can show you our accommodation options, discuss your rabbit’s specific needs, and answer any questions face-to-face. Many customers find this helps them feel completely confident about their booking decision. We just ask that you give us a call or message first to arrange a convenient time – this ensures we’re available to give you our full attention and that the timing works well for all our current guests too.
We try to be as flexible as possible with booking timelines, but it really depends on when you’re planning to travel. Some of our regular customers book up to a year in advance, particularly for summer holidays and school breaks when demand is highest. The earlier you book for peak times, the better chance we have of accommodating your preferred dates.
That said, we’re often able to help with shorter notice bookings too. Because we have different pen configurations and can adapt our setup depending on who’s staying, we’re usually quite good at finding creative solutions. Whether you have a single rabbit, bonded pairs, or need special arrangements, our flexible layout means we can often work something out even when we initially appear full.
For the best availability, we’d recommend booking 2-4 weeks ahead for regular periods, and 2-3 months ahead for busy times like summer holidays, Christmas, and Easter. But don’t let short notice stop you from getting in touch – we’ve surprised many customers by squeezing them in when they thought it was impossible.
If you have specific dates in mind, just give us a call or drop us a message. We’ll check our availability and let you know honestly whether we can make it work. Even if your first choice dates aren’t available, we might be able to suggest alternatives that are just as convenient.
Absolutely! We not only accommodate bonded pairs but actively encourage keeping them together – we know how important companionship is for rabbits’ wellbeing.
Unlike traditional boarding facilities with small hutches, we use spacious, purpose-built pens that can comfortably house up to three bonded rabbits together. This means your rabbits can maintain their normal social interactions, grooming routines, and sleeping arrangements throughout their stay, which significantly reduces stress and helps them settle in more quickly.
When booking bonded rabbits, we always ensure they stay in the same pen for their entire visit. We’ll never separate bonded pairs, even if it means turning away other bookings. Just let us know when making your reservation how many rabbits you have and whether they’re bonded, so we can allocate the appropriate space and ensure they have plenty of room to hop, play, and relax together.
Whether you have a pair of house rabbits or a trio that’s been together for years, we’ll make sure their accommodation feels like a home away from home where they can stay comfortable and connected.
We recommend packing anything that will help your rabbit feel at home – their favorite toys, blankets, or comfort items that carry familiar scents. These personal touches make a huge difference in helping them settle in quickly and feel secure during their stay.
Food & Diet: We provide Burgess Excel Adult Rabbit Nuggets as our standard feed, along with unlimited fresh hay and water. However, if your rabbit has specific dietary needs, is on a particular brand, or has any food sensitivities, please bring their usual food and let us know about their requirements. Consistency is key to avoiding any digestive upset, especially when they’re in a new environment.
Treats & Extras: Feel free to bring any special treats your rabbit enjoys. As a bonus, Jules runs a chutney and jam-making business here on the farm, which means we always have fresh cauliflower leaves, carrot tops, and other vegetable offcuts available as healthy, natural treats – something our guests absolutely love!
What We Provide: All bedding, hay, basic pellets, water, cleaning supplies, and plenty of enrichment activities are included. You just need to bring the personal items that make your rabbit feel loved and comfortable.
If you’re unsure about anything specific to pack, just give us a call when booking and we’ll talk through your rabbit’s individual needs.

If you’re unsure about anything specific to pack, just give us a call when booking and we’ll talk through your rabbit’s individual needs.
We supply Burgess Excel Adult Rabbit Nuggets as our standard pellet food, which provides all the essential nutrients rabbits need. Fresh timothy hay is available unlimited throughout the day, along with constant access to clean water in both bottles and bowls – whichever your rabbit prefers.
Fresh Treats: One of the perks of staying on our working farm is the variety of fresh, healthy treats available. Because Jules produces artisan chutneys and preserves on-site, we always have an abundance of fresh vegetable trimmings – think crispy cauliflower leaves, sweet carrot tops, and other garden extras that rabbits absolutely adore. These natural treats add variety and enrichment to their daily routine.
Special Requirements: If your rabbit is on a specific pellet brand, has dietary restrictions, or simply prefers particular foods, please bring their usual supplies along with clear feeding instructions. We’re happy to follow any special feeding routines or portion sizes you’ve established at home. Some rabbits can be quite particular about their food, and maintaining their normal diet helps prevent any tummy upsets during their stay.
What’s Included: All basic nutrition needs are covered in your booking – pellets, unlimited hay, fresh water, and those special farm-fresh treats. You only need to bring food if your rabbit has specific requirements that differ from our standard offerings.
Daily Maintenance: Each pen receives a thorough spot clean every day, with litter trays refreshed, food bowls cleaned, and any mess tidied up. We also keep an eye on things throughout the day and address anything that needs attention immediately – rabbits are naturally quite active and love to rearrange their bedding, so there’s always something to tidy!
Deep Cleaning: Between each guest’s stay, we completely strip and disinfect every pen using rabbit-safe cleaning products. The entire boarding building gets a comprehensive jet wash weekly during changeover periods, ensuring everything is spotless and hygienic for incoming guests.
Our Standards: We use only dust-free wood shavings and fresh straw for bedding, replacing these regularly to maintain comfort and cleanliness. Water bottles and food bowls are cleaned and refilled daily, and we pay particular attention to areas where rabbits spend most of their time – their sleeping corners and feeding stations.
This routine means your rabbit will always have a clean, fresh environment throughout their stay, and you can be confident they’re staying somewhere that meets the highest hygiene standards.
Absolutely! Staying connected with your rabbit during their stay is really important to us, and we’ve made it as easy as possible for you.
Live Camera Access: Most of our pens are equipped with secure cameras that you can access anytime through a private link we’ll provide when you drop off. Whether it’s first thing in the morning or late at night, you can check in and see exactly how your rabbit is doing – sleeping, playing, or just lounging around. The cameras give you real-time peace of mind whenever you need it.
Personal Video Updates: For pens without live camera feeds, Jim or Jules will personally video your rabbit during feeding times and other activities throughout the day, sending these clips directly to you via WhatsApp. These aren’t just quick snapshots either – we’ll capture them eating, exploring, or just being their usual selves so you can see their personality shining through.
Why We Do This: We know how much you care about your rabbit, and being apart can be worrying. These regular visual updates help you see that they’re not just safe and well-cared for, but actually enjoying their holiday. Many customers tell us these videos and camera feeds make all the difference in helping them relax and enjoy their own time away.
Just let us know your preferred contact method when booking, and we’ll set everything up for you.
Our outdoor pens aren’t fully weatherproof by design – they’re large, 3×3 meter open-air spaces that allow rabbits to experience fresh air, natural light, and engage in instinctive behaviors like digging and foraging in the bark surface.
Weather Protection: Each outdoor pen includes a cozy, fully waterproof hutch where rabbits can shelter whenever they need to. These hutches provide complete protection from rain, wind, and harsh weather, giving your rabbit the choice of staying dry and warm or venturing out to explore and play. Many rabbits love having this option – they’ll often hop between the sheltered area and the open space throughout the day.
Natural Environment: The bark flooring isn’t just practical – it’s designed specifically for rabbit enrichment. Unlike concrete or grass that can become muddy, bark provides excellent drainage while allowing rabbits to dig, scratch, and exhibit natural foraging behaviors. The 3×3 meter space gives them plenty of room to hop around, stretch their legs, and really enjoy being outdoors.
Weather Considerations: We monitor weather conditions carefully and only use the outdoor pens when it’s suitable. During heavy rain, strong winds, or extreme temperatures, rabbits stay in their comfortable indoor accommodation instead. This means your rabbit gets the best of both worlds – outdoor adventures when the weather’s nice, and cozy indoor comfort when it’s not.
This setup allows rabbits to experience the mental and physical stimulation of being outdoors while always having a safe, dry retreat available.
Continuous Freedom: Rather than having set “exercise periods” like traditional boarding facilities, our guests have complete freedom of movement throughout their stay. Because we use large, spacious pens instead of cramped hutches, your rabbit can hop, stretch, play, and exercise whenever they feel like it – just like they would at home.
The Pen Advantage: Most rabbit boarding facilities use small hutches with separate runs for limited “exercise time.” This means rabbits spend most of their day confined and only get brief periods to move around. Our approach is completely different – our pens are designed as full living spaces where rabbits have constant access to their entire accommodation area.
Natural Activity Patterns: Rabbits are naturally most active during dawn and dusk (crepuscular), but they also enjoy little bursts of energy throughout the day. With our pen system, they can follow their natural rhythms – having a mad dash around at 6am if they want to, then settling down for a nap, then getting playful again in the afternoon. They’re never waiting for us to “let them out” for exercise.
Space to Move: Each pen provides ample room for binkying (those joyful rabbit jumps!), running, and exploring. Whether they want to dig in the bark areas of outdoor pens or just stretch out fully indoors, they have the space and freedom to be active whenever the mood strikes.
This means your rabbit gets far more exercise and mental stimulation than they would in a traditional hutch-based boarding setup.
Flexible Accommodation Sizes: We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to rabbit accommodation. Our pen sizes vary depending on the number of rabbits staying and their individual needs, ensuring every guest has appropriate space to be comfortable and active.
Indoor Pens: Our smallest indoor pens measure approximately 1.5×1.5 meters – perfect for a single rabbit or small bonded pair. These provide significantly more space than traditional hutches, allowing rabbits to hop freely, stretch out fully, and have distinct areas for sleeping, eating, and playing. For larger groups or particularly active rabbits, we have bigger indoor options available.
Outdoor Pens: Our outdoor pens are our largest at 3×3 meters – spacious enough for up to three bonded rabbits to run, dig, and explore together comfortably. These generous outdoor spaces include waterproof shelter areas plus the full open-air section with bark flooring for natural foraging and digging behaviors.
Matching Space to Needs: When you book, we’ll discuss your rabbit’s size, activity level, and any special requirements to ensure they get the most suitable accommodation. A single dwarf rabbit might be perfectly happy in our smaller pens, while a large breed or very active rabbit would benefit from our bigger spaces. Bonded pairs and groups always get pens sized appropriately for their numbers.
All our pens, regardless of size, are designed as complete living spaces rather than just sleeping areas – giving rabbits proper room to move, play, and relax throughout their stay.
Simple and Understanding: We don’t have a strict cancellation policy because we understand that life happens – flights get delayed, family emergencies arise, pets get poorly, or plans simply change. Whatever the reason, there’s no need to panic or worry about penalties.
All We Ask: Just let us know as soon as you can if your plans change. Whether it’s a week in advance or the morning you’re supposed to drop off, we completely understand. A quick call or message is all we need – no lengthy explanations or justifications required.
Why We Keep It Flexible: We’re a small, family-run business and we know how stressful it can be when travel plans go wrong. The last thing you need is additional worry about cancellation fees or complicated policies. We’d much rather you rebook when the time is right than feel pressured to bring your rabbit when it’s not convenient.
Future Bookings: When you’re ready to rebook, we’ll know your preferences and requirements from your previous inquiry, which makes organizing your rabbit’s next stay even easier. Many of our customers have had to reschedule at some point, and we’re always happy to work with you to find new dates that suit.
This relaxed approach is part of what makes Buntopia different – we’re here to make rabbit boarding as stress-free as possible for both you and your bunny.
No Deposits Required: We don’t ask for deposits or upfront payments – we operate on a simple trust-based system. We believe in treating our customers the way we’d like to be treated, and we’ve found that people are generally honest and reliable when you give them the chance to be.
Payment When You Collect: Instead of taking money upfront, we simply ask for payment when you collect your rabbit at the end of their stay. You can pay by cash or bank transfer – whatever’s most convenient for you. This approach means you’re never worried about losing money if your plans change unexpectedly.
Why We Do This: This relaxed payment approach reflects our overall philosophy at Buntopia. We’re a small family business built on relationships and trust rather than rigid policies and procedures. Most of our customers become regulars who book with us repeatedly, and this trust-based system helps create that welcoming, stress-free experience from the very beginning.
It Just Works: In our experience, things have a way of working themselves out when you approach business with honesty and flexibility. Customers appreciate not having to pay upfront, especially when they’re already dealing with travel planning and arrangements. It’s one less thing to worry about, and it means you only pay once you can see that your rabbit has been well cared for.
This approach is part of what makes booking with Buntopia feel more like arranging care with friends than dealing with a corporate service.
We Keep It Simple: Honestly, we’re pretty relaxed about most things you might want to bring for your rabbit. Our main concern is always safety and hygiene, so we just ask you to use common sense.
Safety First: Please don’t bring anything that could be harmful to rabbits – like houseplants (many are toxic), chocolate, or items with small parts that could be choking hazards. If you’re unsure whether something is safe, just ask us when you’re packing or give us a quick call.
Hygiene Considerations: We’d prefer you don’t bring used bedding from home or items that have been in contact with other animals, just to prevent any potential spread of bacteria or parasites between our guests. Fresh blankets and clean toys are absolutely fine though.
Practical Limits: Very large items or anything particularly valuable should probably stay at home – our pens are spacious but not enormous, and while we’re careful, accidents can happen on a working farm.
When in Doubt: If you’re wondering about bringing something specific, just mention it when you book or give us a call. We’re happy to chat through anything you’re unsure about. We want your rabbit to feel at home, so we’ll work with you to figure out what will make them most comfortable while keeping everyone safe.
Bottom Line: Use your judgment – if it’s something you’d be happy for your rabbit to have at home, it’s probably fine to bring along.
Absolutely! We actively encourage bringing your rabbit’s own food, especially if they have specific dietary needs, preferences, or sensitivities. Maintaining their normal diet helps prevent any digestive upset during their stay and keeps them feeling comfortable in their new environment.
Special Diets & Preferences: Whether your rabbit is on a particular pellet brand, needs special supplements, or simply prefers certain treats, bring everything along with clear feeding instructions. We’re happy to follow any specific routines – portion sizes, feeding times, or special preparation requirements.
Unique Treats Welcome: We love accommodating unusual preferences! One of our regular customers brings bags of fresh willow tree clippings because their rabbits absolutely adore willow leaves – something we’d never have thought of, but now we know exactly what makes their bunnies happy. If your rabbit has discovered a particular favorite food or treat, bring it along.
Feeding Instructions: Just let us know how much to give, how often, and any special instructions when you drop off. We’ll follow your routine exactly so there’s no disruption to their normal eating patterns. If you’re mixing their usual food with ours, just explain the ratio and we’ll handle the rest.
Storage: We have secure storage for all guest foods, clearly labeled so there’s no mix-ups. Dry foods, fresh treats, supplements – whatever you bring will be properly stored and used only for your rabbit.
The goal is to keep everything as normal as possible for your rabbit, and food is such an important part of that comfort.
We’ll Make It Work: Don’t worry – we understand that sometimes holidays get extended or travel plans change unexpectedly. We’ll always do our best to accommodate you, even if it means shuffling things around a bit.
Flexible Solutions: If we need to extend your rabbit’s stay, we might have to move them to a different pen to make space for new arrivals, but we’ll make sure the transition is smooth and stress-free. Your rabbit will get the same level of care and attention regardless of which pen they’re in, and we’ll set up their new space with all their familiar items to keep them comfortable.
Our Commitment: We’ve never had to turn anyone away when they’ve needed an extension. In the absolute worst-case scenario, Jim has been known to roll up his sleeves and build an additional pen to make sure we can help out. That’s the kind of problem-solving approach we take – there’s always a solution if you’re willing to be creative.
Just Give Us Notice: The earlier you can let us know about needing extra days, the easier it is for us to plan around it. But even last-minute extensions can usually be sorted – we’ll just need to have a quick chat about the options and work out what’s possible.
Pricing: Extended stays are charged at the same daily rate, so there are no surprise fees or premium charges for changes. We keep everything straightforward and fair.
The bottom line is we want to help, and we’ll find a way to make it work.
Simple, Transparent Pricing:
No Peak Period Surcharges: Unlike many boarding facilities, we don’t charge extra for Christmas, Easter, bank holidays, or school holiday periods. Our rates stay exactly the same whether you’re booking for a quiet Tuesday in February or Christmas week – we believe fair pricing shouldn’t change based on when you need to travel.
What’s Included: These rates cover everything your rabbit needs during their stay – spacious accommodation, unlimited fresh hay, Burgess Excel pellets, clean water, daily cleaning, and access to our farm-fresh treats like cauliflower leaves and carrot tops. There are no hidden extras or additional charges for basic care.
Great Value: Our pricing structure recognizes that bonded rabbits share resources and space efficiently. A bonded pair costs just £5 extra rather than doubling the single rate, and three rabbits together cost the same as two singles – making it much more affordable for families with multiple rabbits.
Payment: We keep things simple – payment is due when you collect your rabbit at the end of their stay. You can pay by cash or bank transfer, whichever suits you better. No deposits required, no booking fees, no surprise charges.
Consistent Rates: The same daily rates apply whether you’re away for one night or three weeks, and whether it’s a regular weekend or Christmas Day. We don’t have complicated pricing tiers, minimum stay requirements, or seasonal surcharges – just straightforward per-night pricing that makes it easy to calculate your costs.
Payment on Collection: We keep it simple – you pay when you come to collect your rabbit at the end of their stay. There’s no need to worry about upfront payments, deposits, or complicated booking fees. You’ll see exactly how well your rabbit has been cared for before you pay, which we think is only fair.
Payment Methods: We accept cash or bank transfer – whichever is more convenient for you. If you’re paying by bank transfer, we can send you our details when you collect, or you can sort it out later the same day if that’s easier. We’re not fussy about the exact timing as long as it gets sorted.
If You’re Running Late: If you’re delayed collecting your rabbit or stuck in traffic, don’t worry about the payment timing. We’d rather you drive safely and arrive when you can than rush to meet some arbitrary payment deadline. We’ll work it out when you get here.
Trust-Based System: This relaxed approach to payment reflects our overall philosophy – we trust our customers, and it makes the whole experience much more pleasant for everyone. No stress about money upfront, no worrying about getting refunds if plans change, just straightforward payment for services received.
Mostly Everything’s Included: The vast majority of what your rabbit needs during their stay is covered by the daily rate – accommodation, food, hay, water, daily cleaning, exercise time, and our farm-fresh treats. We don’t believe in nickel-and-diming customers with lots of hidden extras.
Professional Services: There are just a couple of additional services that we charge for, and we’ll always discuss these with you beforehand:
Nail Clipping: If we notice your rabbit’s nails are getting long and could benefit from trimming, we’ll give you a call or mention it when you contact us. This is a professional service that requires experience and proper tools, so there’s a small charge for it – but only if you agree in advance.
Medication Administration: If your rabbit needs medications during their stay, there’s a small daily charge for this service. Managing medications properly requires extra time, attention, and record-keeping to ensure doses are given correctly and safely. Again, we’ll agree the cost beforehand when you book.
No Surprise Charges: We’ll never add charges without discussing them with you first. If we think your rabbit might benefit from nail clipping or if medication administration is needed, we’ll contact you and explain exactly what’s involved and what it costs before proceeding. You can always say no if you prefer to handle these things yourself when you get back.
Transparent Approach: This policy means there are never any surprise bills when you collect your rabbit. You’ll know exactly what to expect, and most customers never need these additional services anyway.
Consistent Fair Pricing: We don’t offer discounts for longer stays – our daily rates remain the same whether you’re away for one night or three weeks. We believe our pricing is already fair and competitive for the level of care and attention your rabbits receive.
Why We Keep It Simple: Rather than having complicated pricing structures with different rates for different lengths of stay, we prefer to keep things straightforward. Our daily rate reflects the actual cost of providing excellent care – your rabbit gets the same quality accommodation, food, attention, and cleaning whether they’re with us for a weekend or a month.
Already Great Value: We think our all-inclusive approach offers excellent value as it stands. Unlike facilities that charge extra for exercise time, special diets, enrichment activities, or peak periods, our rate covers everything your rabbit needs. When you factor in no Christmas surcharges, no booking fees, no deposit requirements, and no surprise extras, the overall value is already very competitive.
Consistent Quality: A longer-staying rabbit doesn’t require less care or attention – if anything, they may need more as we get to know their individual personality and preferences. We maintain the same high standards of cleaning, feeding, and interaction regardless of how long they’re with us.
Fair for Everyone: This approach means all our customers pay the same fair rate for the same excellent service, regardless of their booking length. We believe this is the most transparent and equitable way to price our care.
Immediate Response: Because we live and work on site, we’re always close by if any emergency arises. We check on our guests regularly throughout the day and are experienced at spotting signs of distress or illness in rabbits early, before they become serious problems.
Veterinary Care: We have an established relationship with local veterinary practices that are familiar with rabbit care. In case of a medical emergency, we’ll transport your rabbit immediately for professional treatment. We keep a list of emergency vets available for out-of-hours situations, ensuring your rabbit can get help any time of day or night.
Keeping You Informed: You’ll be contacted immediately if any emergency occurs. We’ll explain what’s happened, what action we’re taking, and keep you updated throughout the situation. If it’s a serious medical issue, we’ll get your rabbit to the vet first and call you on the way – their health comes before paperwork.
Decision Making: We’ll always try to reach you before making major medical decisions, but if your rabbit needs urgent treatment and we can’t contact you immediately, we’ll authorize necessary care to protect their wellbeing. You can specify any preferences or limitations when you book if you have particular concerns about treatment decisions.
Our Experience: We’ve been caring for rabbits for years and can recognize emergency situations quickly. Most “emergencies” turn out to be minor issues that just need prompt attention, but we’d rather be over-cautious when it comes to your rabbit’s health and safety.
Non-Medical Emergencies: For situations like severe weather, power cuts, or other facility emergencies, we have backup plans in place to ensure all our guests remain safe, warm, and cared for until the situation is resolved.
Always Accessible: We understand that when your rabbit is staying with us, you might have questions or concerns outside normal hours – and that’s absolutely fine. We’re always available on WhatsApp, telephone, or email, seven days a week.
Best Contact Methods: WhatsApp is often the quickest way to reach us, especially for non-urgent questions or if you just want a quick update. You can text, call, or even send voice messages – whatever works best for you. For immediate emergencies, a phone call gets the fastest response.
Response Times: During the day we usually respond within minutes, and even in the evening or early morning, we’ll get back to you quickly. We know that worrying about your rabbit doesn’t stick to office hours, so neither do we. If it’s genuinely urgent, don’t hesitate to call – we’d rather be woken up for something minor than have you worry unnecessarily.
What Counts as “Outside Hours”: Honestly, we don’t really have set business hours when it comes to guest welfare. Whether it’s 6am or 11pm, if you need to get in touch about your rabbit, just contact us. We live on site, so we’re never really “off duty” when we have guests staying.
Peace of Mind: Many customers find it reassuring just knowing they can reach us anytime. Whether you want to check how your rabbit settled in on their first night, or you’re having second thoughts about something you packed, or there’s a genuine emergency – we’re here and happy to help whenever you need us.
Immediate Action: If your rabbit shows signs of serious illness or injury, we act immediately. We won’t waste time with phone calls or paperwork when urgent care is needed – we’ll get them straight to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic and contact you on the way.
Our Veterinary Network: We have established relationships with several local veterinary practices experienced in rabbit care, including emergency clinics for out-of-hours situations. We know which vets are rabbit-savvy and can provide the specialized care rabbits need, rather than taking them to just any general practice.
What We Look For: With our experience, we can quickly identify emergency symptoms in rabbits – things like difficulty breathing, signs of GI stasis, lethargy, loss of appetite, or any sudden changes in behavior. Rabbits are prey animals that hide illness well, but we know the subtle signs to watch for.
Authorization & Costs: We’ll try to contact you before authorizing treatment, but if it’s truly urgent and we can’t reach you, we’ll approve necessary care to save your rabbit’s life first and sort out details later. You remain responsible for veterinary costs, which is why we recommend pet insurance when booking.
Communication: You’ll be contacted immediately when any emergency arises. We’ll explain what’s happening, which vet we’re using, and keep you updated throughout the treatment. If you’re local, you can meet us at the vet; if you’re abroad, we’ll be your rabbit’s advocate until you can take over.
Follow-Up Care: After emergency treatment, we’ll continue any prescribed care and medications as directed by the vet, ensuring your rabbit gets proper recovery support for the remainder of their stay.
EXCELLENT Based on 8 reviews Posted on Sharon CroftTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What an absolute fabulous bunny hotel! From the very first communication to the final pick up. Our little bunny was welcomed and he settled quickly, this is a credit to the relaxed environment. His run was spacious, i don’t think he wanted to leave. Little touches like playing music for the bunnies was lovely. You can tell Jim & Jules live what they do. The addition of bunny cam was a superb touch! Definitely 5 stars and we would use again!Posted on Lucinda CreedTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really lovely rabbit boarding, it truly is a Buntopia! Mushroom and Ted stayed here for 2 weeks and were made to feel right at home. The family are rabbit savvy and really care for them. The pens are spacious and clean, with enrichment and hiding spots. Mushroom and Ted even made a new friend with the neighbouring bun-guest. Communication is great right from the start prior to boarding. It's a bit of a drive for me as I'm not in Bucks but totally worth it. Will absolutely be booking Mush and Ted to stay here again when needed. Thank you so much!Posted on Emma TwinnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These guys helped me out when I needed emergency accommodation for my three bunnies. Excellent service. Jim showed me around the pens and explained everything. He sent me a video of the buns which was lovely. I would definitely recommend and I will be using them again!Posted on Karina CarveyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great bunny hotel, our rabbit Odi loves going here. It's the small things that make them stand out, playing music for the bunnies and sitting in there with them, giving them attention. The owners are also so friendly and very accommodating. Makes holiday planning a lot easier.Posted on ZedTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Willow & Mari (large French lop rabbits) had a great stay at Buntopia and were very happy in their large enclosure. Had regular updates from very friendly family who run business. Highly recommend, as do Willow and Mari who didn’t want to leave 😀Posted on Anne GrovesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would highly recommend 👌Posted on Denise HuntTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our first time with Buntopia and we were not disappointed. From our initial contact, communication was great, our text messages were answered within minutes and we were kept updated whilst we were away. Buntopia were everything we had hoped they would be… our two bunnies were extremely well cared for, all their foibles catered for and their accommodation was a spacious, safe and secure enclosure. They even had their own radio to make them feel at home! The run was lovely and cool during the unusually hot April weather, the day we returned to collect our buns it was a searing 30° but they were chilled and relaxed. We would highly recommend Buntopia and will definitely be booking in again very soon. Many thanks to Buntopia x
